Corryong

Corryong is the premier town of the Upper Murray, in the foothills of the Snowy Mountains.  
Surrounded by natural beauty, Corryong is a great place to live or to visit.

Located on the Victorian side of the Murray River, Corryong has a population of around 1400 people. Situated in a wide valley with a view dominated by Mt. Mittamatite in the west and Mt. Elliot to the northeast, Corryong is the commercial, educational and medical hub of the region.Corryong also has the only accredited Visitor Information Centre in the Upper Murray.

The town has an impressive list of facilities including three parks, a recreation reserve with facilities for camp drafting, rodeos, football, netball, tennis, golf, skateboarding and swimming as well as many shops with a wide range of goods and services on offer. There are two hotels, a licensed sporting club, several restaurants and cafes and a bakery,which sells the most delicious 'bee-stings'.

The town has enviable educational facilitieswith a P-8 Catholic School and Corryong P-12 College. With very small class sizes in the senior level and dedicated teachers, Corryong College regularly has VCE students who gain high ATAR scores.

Further education opportunities are facilitated by Corryong Neighbourhood House, the Continuing Education Centre and the Corryong Health and Community Services' flexible online learning programs.

High quality health care is facilitated by the Upper Murray Health and Community Services, which manages the hospital, aged care facilities and hostel, the bulk billing medical clinic and a range of specialist medical services.Corryong also has an ambulance service andis the central headquarters of the district's fire brigade services and State Emergency Services.The Corryong Farmers' Market held on the first Saturday morning of the month between September and April.

The Corryong and district community hold special events throughout the year.

The largest event, The Man From Snowy River Bush Festival, is held in Corryong in late March/early April each year.

The Corryong and District Agricultural Showis held in either late February or early March, depending on the year.

The Corryong Farmers' Markets are held on the first Saturday morning of the month year round.
